and Training - iHeart Fellowship Application

Gain experience in community work addressing the social determinants of health in underserved communities

Learn how to work collaboratively with a team of community health workers and project planning staff
Receive mentorship from subject matter experts in community engagement and health promotional services
Build leadership skills in public health projects
Receive mentorship in biomedical research and learn research skills
Learn how to conduct innovative scientific investigation and devise scientific methods and procedures to apply scientific principles, theories, and research
Conduct biomedical laboratory activities, including study design, execution of various experiments, data collection, and data interpretation

Fellowship Activities

Attend community health fairs and health promotional events (approximately
8 community events per month)
Create and design professional infographics and posts about health targeting
to reach the communities
Assist with the planning and organizing of a capstone community event
Exercise effective communications with the project team and community
collaborators and members on a daily basis
Publish data and present at conferences

Preferred Applicants

Individuals who are pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree in public
health, health promotion, or equivalent programs in university setting
Expect travel to community sites
Excellent communication skills
