TSU Leadership, Education, & Advancement in Undergraduate Transdisciplinary Research Pathways (TSU - LEAP)

TSU-LEAP focuses on developing the critical 21st-century skills that are highlighted as essential in the shifting economy, including

  • Critical & Multidimensional Thinking: In the TSU LEAP Program, students engage in problem-solving, reasoning, and cultivating curiosity through the diverse research tracks offered, from AI & computational modeling to social/behavioral sciences.
  • Empathy: A key component of the TSU LEAP Program is the emotional intelligence assessment and hardiness resilience gauge. This component trains students in self-awareness, understanding others’ emotions, and developing the capacity to cope with challenges.
  • Collaboration: Through its interdisciplinary research projects and group activities, the TSU LEAP Program emphasizes teamwork, cultural sensitivity, and navigating organizational structures.
  • Creativity: The TSU LEAP Program encourages ideation, human-centered design thinking, and embracing failure as part of the innovative process across its research areas.
  • Events: LEAP Orientation, TSU Leadership Summit, Grand Rounds, DiSC, EQi, and HRG Assessments, Mental Health AwarenessComponent, Financial Literacy, Capstone Research Poster Presentation, DRI Research Week, PROPEL Learn Micro-Credentialing Courses, and Community Engagement.
